Pros
- Very good workers on my team, we keep good communication. - I want the best for my property, really seemed like some big things were coming for us and we were excited! - I'm a people person and enjoy helping others find a new home. I care for the residents and have built a rapport with them over the years. - Benefits are nice. - PTO and vacation is reasonable
Cons
- The company is dumping more responsibility on less people and waving a dollar in front of you as incentive. They cut two members off our crew. I'm a lone leasing agent in an apartment complex with approximately 300+ people. They like to say they're about work-life balance but how am I supposed to take off when I'll come back to a dumpster fire that had no coverage? - They slimmed down the Regional managers too so they have to take care of more properties, ~but they don't~ they just assigned their assistant to take care of us. The power is most certainly going to their head, as there's currently no trust which has been very frustrating as we're doing an excellent job here keeping the complex above 97% occupied and have great customer service and good reviews/ surveys with our residents and prospects. - You have to beg for the raise you deserve, and even then they told me they have to take from other workers raises to give me the one I'm asking for which is unfair to them. - Yardi CRM (The software you're supposed to use) is a nightmare! The loading times to clear the queue are ungodly if it even wants to function before kicking you out. Yet, it's expected to stay on top of the asinine drudgery of clearing the queue... which is just clicking and loading clicking and loading. Meanwhile, this could be time spent actually connecting with prospects, giving tours, doing events, etc. but no I have to stay on top of the slowest dinosaur of a software engine, because god forbid it goes above 30 unreviewed. - Finally, Morgan Properties is the fastest growing Property Management Company in the nation (good for them) but the money spent on the newer projects has really left the older properties in the dust - and I'm pretty positive they're budgeting us less and less money as well. I really wanted to bring this places into the modern day but the projects promised have taken years to complete. - Tired of explaining why rent is going up when our amenities are half done and the new contractors do a crap job. The renovated units are easy to sell, but it's very difficult to sell an expensive apartment when it's so outdated. Sigh... rant over, had to get this all off my chest. I wish this was the job it used to be because I loved that job and really cared about it. Seems a lot of the changes are to the detriment of the workers here.
