HR in the EU is a disaster, no local knowledge of labour legislation, and the onboarding of most new employees in Germany was rather chaotic. Also, trial periods differ according to individual employees: some had a 3 month trial period while others had six, with no feasible explanation. I was told two weeks before the end of my trial period that "I did not look happy and would be better off elsewhere" by my manager, with no further explanation. There was no warning, no discussion about my performance during the trail period. I was engaged as a manager and will be replaced by an analyst. Even before signing the contract they changed my job title mid-way offering unconvincing reasons. Terrible overall experience.
