Pros
They cater food everyday and everyone you work with is genuinely very supportive.
Cons
There’s so many cons I don’t even know where to start. The bait and switch from the interview to first week in office was insane. We were told we’d be hybrid two days of the week but our first week in office the hybrid policy was switched to one day a week. The onboarding process was a mess that just involved info dumbing the Motive product onto us and rushing us on the phone. It literally did not help at all, complete waste of time. The monthly quota is very hard to hit because the book of business is terrible and there’s a rep problem. There’s too many reps for the amount of accounts they have. It leads to a lot of reps on being able to hit quota because there’s only five workable accounts in the 20 they have. The limited onboarding process and the aggressive quotas are really bad for reps. They lead to a lot of PIP’s and very high turnover. Out of the eight people who started in my cohort, only one is left. It’s very brutal and a battle of attrition more than anything. Who gets the book of accounts that are actually workable. In my time at Motive I’ve found that this company is more interested in micromanaging your daily KPI’s that solving the root of the problem such as the terrible book of accounts and irresponsible over hiring. Upper management is so fickle they changed the commission structure twice in the five month period I was there. I saw too performing reps leave because of this. It seems like every decision upper management makes is detrimental to the reps. There’s a lack of structure and inconsistency regarding company policies that’s almost comical. They’ll change the monthly quota depending on the month because it’s not only unattainable with the book of accounts, but more than half of the reps are on PIP’s and would get fired for missing quota again. It’s interesting seeing the ultra high turnover and upper management not make any tangible changes to retain the overachieving SDR’s they have left. This place is always changing from the worst, there’s two companies similar to Motive that you could argue do the same thing better so it’s hard to drive a value proposition during an outbound call, and there’s no job stability. I’d genuinely be shocked if this company is still around in the next five years. It’s a dumpster fire. If you need stability or a clear path for growth, this is not the company for you. Every positive review you see on this Glassdoor is from the Pakistan team, don’t be fooled.
