Pros
Good place to be a senior clinician or researcher, terrible place to be support staff
Cons
The acquisition last year of Continuum Health more than doubled Mount Sinai's size. Support staff are being reassigned apparently at random with no choice and little direction from management. At a recent staff meeting, people were told Plan D for merging the two systems was being implemented, since Plans A through C had proved unworkable. Management makes apparently arbitrary decisions with no regard for employee wishes or the impact changes will have on them. There is no work-life balance. Work is all there is. Politics runs rampant. It has become a very uncomfortable place to work.
