Pros

good benefits, good vacation days...

Cons

Only management gets raises, so if your not being hired as management, dont bother. - instant career dead end. they give million dollar interest free loans to the docs (see daily news articles), the president of the company got a seven figure bonus, but a lot of us non management employees never get raises, even over a decade of satisfactory work. they adjust the reviews to never justify a raise, and the heads of IT mandate no raises (like they did last week prompting this review). they will hold your pension and future over your head to motivate you... been told that no matter how hard i work, what i do, or what i achieve, i will never get a raise between now and retirement in 15 years. if you leave you lose their vested ontributions to your pension, lose benefits, etc... so they hold that over you, give you piles of work, and if you do it well or do extra, you get notning.

Pros

salary pay instead of hourly so you still get the same paycheck on a month you took vacation. good for new grads to get experience with chronically sick patients.

Cons

PA leadership is unsupportive and the hospital admins care more about patients who have donated money to the hospital. pay is low compared to NYC PAs as a whole. and patients’ behavior is a problem.
