Pros

Working in a laboratory, the environment was very collegial and cooperative where you had the chance to learn new ideas to advance your field of research. Also had the benefit of taking time off as needed. As long as the work got done...

Cons

Depending who you worked for funding could be a big issue in terms of what experiments you were able to conduct

Pros

project , asynchronous work. hybrid schedule. work can be tedious but completely doable, and free. Hour lunch at your time, no clock-in clock out, 8-5pm available schedule, no nights no overtime no weekends. holidays off.

Cons

fully depends on the team/program you work for, whether or not it will be a decent workspace/place. it can be a huge workload or small, but again it really depends what department, hospital, team/program you work for. pay is average especially in NYC, it isnt much. Sinai system takes awhile for annual raises to kick in, and you have to be lucky if you get bonuses and merit raises, like I said it depends on where/who your team is. Mine hardly got raises. Sinai pto and sick hours aren't that great, and again depends on the team you are on.
