Pros

1. Meaningful work in a dynamic environment where there is opportunity to learn and grow no matter your function. 2. Fast paced, build cool stuff that benefits all people vibes. 3. Genuine effort to improve Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging because it's the right thing to do not just a because it's a "good business case" for tech innovation. 4. Kind, talented humans who care about the health of the internet/tech for all and doing their best to make a positive impact on the world. No company is perfect, but I've never been somewhere or worked with a leadership team who genuinely try as hard as Mozilla does to take care for people (in and out of the company) and does so in as transparent of a way as possible. 5. People who thrive here are results driven, have a growth mindset and value diverse opinions/perspectives. 6. Really generous (and inclusive) health benefits including competitive (for the US) parental leave benefits (100% pay for 6 month for the birthing parent & 3 months non-birthing parent).

Cons

1. Sometimes transparent to a fault. You can't make everyone happy all of the time, and when difficult things happen and impossible decisions have to be made (especially during the tough year 2020 has brought everyone) voices who are overly negative can be amplified and can really impact the morale of the people around them. 2. Not a ton of structure (which I love) but if you need more structure to thrive (which is OK) you might not like it here.

Mozilla Response

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to write a review about Mozilla. We appreciate you mentioning our commitment to lasting and positive change not only for the health of the internet but also for our users and our employees. Mozilla values all voices and backgrounds and we will continue to amplify and bring those voices into Mozilla. Working in the open means all voices have a platform. While Mozillians should feel energized and motivated to continue to fight for the internet, they should also feel comfortable providing constructive feedback. We make time to address those sometimes less than positive perspectives during our weekly and monthly all-Mozilla meetings and Project Syncs. We also survey our staff regularly to get a systematic, comprehensive view of our employees on a regular basis. We are happy to hear that you believe Mozilla’s Diversity and Inclusion efforts are trending in the right direction. If you have any other specific feedback to share, please feel free to email us directly!

Pros

Great health insurance benefits. Literally you pay nothing per pay check. Also parental leave is 6 months which is rare in the US. Wellness days were nice too.

Cons

Lack of black people in and promoted to senior / management positions even though there are many qualified people to be there. Also management cannot make decisions. They are leaps and bounds behind the competition and many lack competence.
