I was embarrassed to give estimates to customers as their hourly rate and minimum charge is out to lunch. The owner expected me to explain that our prices are higher than most cause the service technicians are professional and wear a uniform and a clearly marked van.. no one gives a crap about that, that’s not worth double the cost from other companies. The owner and and her family worked for the company along with a few other employees, they family would take off on holidays any time they wanted to .. requiring me to re schedule the appointments, a lot of re scheduling the same customer on a constant basis which resulted in very upset customers. Other employees were not allowed to take holidays. This franchise would secretly go out of their territory on unmarked vans to the other handyman’s territory to steal customers, then record the sales on a completely different software so head office wouldn’t know. Shady business to be part of, did not feel comfortable working for this company at all The technicians were paid by the job that they are working on. And if they had a recall the technician works for free.. they don’t get paid for work.. I’m sorry but, that’s illegal? The owner yells and screams at customers if there is a question on their highly expensive invoice. Such an embarrassment and ridiculous company to work for, very unprofessional. If you quit the owner will purposely “forget” to give you your final pay.
