A teaching contract means nothing to them, do NOT sign it if they offer you one. - Lead Preschool Teacher Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Employee Review

Pros

Was only there for the kids and their parents, and to pay my bills and feed my own children. No one else matters anymore.

Cons

They treat white employees, and employees from other cultures, like garbage. They don’t understand the meaning of the terms “teacher contract” “chain of command” “bureaucracy” and they don’t seem to grasp the dynamics of an effective classroom environment. Anytime there’s a dispute, the lead teacher is never supported, and the assistants are always believed, even when they tell a flat out lie about someone. They are often allowed to move to any room they want just by dragging their feet. It wasn’t until I started my new teaching job, that I realized that I was only wrong to second guess myself. The assistants need to be told to get off their phones and start showing some respect where it’s deserved and earned. If I knew the contract I signed didn’t guarantee me the job for the entire year, I never would have taken the job in the first place.

Pros

Rewarding watching the kids grow and knowing how much influence you had. Pay and benefits were pretty good too.

Cons

I can’t even begin to say it, because I’m just too bitter about how I was treated, and I can’t do it without sounding like I’m disrespecting certain people who I still have a lot of respect for.
