Pros
Pay is surprisingly good for what you do. You’re a glorified janitor making $20+ per hour. Lots of scheduling options. Easy to get in because they always need help. Lots of over time opportunities. A good in with the hospital if you’re looking to step up to something else.
Cons
This is a union position. Hard work and good merit won’t get you much of anything but an atta boy. And the Union itself is awful. They pester you to participate in their functions but hardly ever respond when you have something to talk about. And they’re terrible negotiators. Last year we received a 1% increase in our wages - less than is necessary to even compensate for inflation.
