Pros
- Fantastic coworkers. I can't say enough about some of the wonderful people (in all disciplines) I've had the honor to work with. - Some inspirational leaders who spawned a motivation within myself I didn't think I had. - Generous benefits and PTO accruals. - A multitude of opportunities for professional development through course offerings. - Tuition reimbursement.
Cons
- Lack of advancement. I've been a part of MultiCare for nearly eight years. I have a stellar record, the experience and the required education to propel me in the right direction. Despite all that, every pursuit to move up (or even outward) was unsuccessful. With the exception of one, every job I interviewed for was filled by an external candidate. Why not cultivate the talent you already have and provide them with the chance to grow? - Unqualified leaders. Self-explanatory, for the most part. How can you expect a department to perform at its best if the leader is unprofessional, disengaged and incompetent? Granted, there is a big cultural shift to improve the leadership but it will take a long time until all those leaders are phased out and replaced with new leaders who embody the new culture. - No transparency. So many changes happened in the last couple years...layoffs, re-organization, outsourcing and who knows what else is coming.
