Pros
Tests are accurate and are a benchmark in the industry
Cons
Teams within and across departments are siloed, This leads to conflict and passive aggressive communication. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Employees are advanced according to political status and time served, not merit. Managers with little, to no, technical experience are promoted so as to not ruffle feathers, from an operational standpoint. When constructive criticism is given, in a fair and respectful manner, employees are told "it won't change, this is how we've always operated, stop complaining". Middle to Executive management are not accountable. Employees are not given due recognition at scientific conferences, nor their contribution to scientific articles. The department in charge of this is staffed by non-technical experts, whom the company has given unwarranted leeway because of historical political connections.
