Pros

-starting as a delivery driver is easy. no "you need job experience to get job experience" nonsense. -if you can drive and lift a little weight, you'll get hired

Cons

-"small business" mentality means you'll sometimes be pressured to do duties outside of your actual job description (in the case of delivery drivers-helping storefront customers, answering storefront phone calls, stocking in between deliveries) -still a predominantly male-oriented work culture. work humor and culture probably wouldn't cut it in more professional establishments -older employees and middle management don't know how to keep their own political opinions private and outside of the workplace -it's pretty much unwritten and unsaid, but employees are constantly griping about their jobs and being stuck in their respective stores. they just haven't gotten around to being able to admit it out loud.

Pros

At the time of writing, I have worked for Napa for 9 years. I can say with a great deal of experience that the fellow employees will make your day. Easy people to work with all around. Something about the shared struggle of working for NAPA will really bring a group of folks together. Customers who come into a NAPA come for a reason. I find this to be a much different experience from other auto parts stores. Customers know what they are talking about, and that makes the job all the easier. Hours are consistent almost to a fault, but you will ceratily get at least your 40 hours.

Cons

When I first started with NAPA, they genuinely cared about their employees(gift cards on bday, anniversary lunch, anniversary gift, holiday bonuses, company-wide holiday parties). That is all gone. All management you will have personal contact with has ZERO authority to do ANYTHING. Do not expect a merit-based raise, or even a yearly raise(no raises in 2 years despite $2.3B in net profit for 2025). It seems to take an act of god to fire employees who literally do not do their job. DO NOT CLIMB THE LADDER. The higher you get in this company, the more you will regret it.
