Pros

-Flexible scheduling -High position mobility*1 -Store level management were often great, reasonable folks -Work culture is usually positive, lots of good coworkers through the years -Fair pay for what the listed responsibilities are*2 -Fair benefits and a great retirement plan for full time employees

Cons

1 *High position mobility because there's a retention problem, employees get burnt out fast and either quit or adopt an "I don't care anymore" attitude. 2 *Unreasonably poor pay for the actual responsibilities that are demanded if you're found to be a capable employee -Store level employees are at the bottom of the food chain and are treated as such by upper management and by their partnered companies -Can be unreasonably stressful when dealing with partnered companies and walk-in customers, everything that goes wrong is your fault while the things that are done well are rarely given recognition -Coworkers who slack off or refuse to put in the work are rarely punished, the work will be given to someone who actually cares without additional pay or benefits -Upper management is dismissive and disregards or ignores constructive reports/ideas and complaints from those who work in stores

Pros

The hours are great compared to Autozone or O’reilly, the pay is much better compared to other auto parts retailers too. Anyone who complains about Napa Auot Parts doesn’t know what it’s like to work for their competitors. Unless you work for independent Napas I know their pay is different from corporate but I feel like this company actually cares about their employees and treats them fairly in regards to pay, and working here is much better and has a better work life balance compared to other retailers which is a plus. I can see myself making this a career and staying long term I love my job and what I do.

Cons

Tams sucks and catalog sucks, thats literally my only complaint about this company they need to upgrade the whole system and the way they do inventory and everything with regards to technology.

Pros

At the time of writing, I have worked for Napa for 9 years. I can say with a great deal of experience that the fellow employees will make your day. Easy people to work with all around. Something about the shared struggle of working for NAPA will really bring a group of folks together. Customers who come into a NAPA come for a reason. I find this to be a much different experience from other auto parts stores. Customers know what they are talking about, and that makes the job all the easier. Hours are consistent almost to a fault, but you will ceratily get at least your 40 hours.

Cons

When I first started with NAPA, they genuinely cared about their employees(gift cards on bday, anniversary lunch, anniversary gift, holiday bonuses, company-wide holiday parties). That is all gone. All management you will have personal contact with has ZERO authority to do ANYTHING. Do not expect a merit-based raise, or even a yearly raise(no raises in 2 years despite $2.3B in net profit for 2025). It seems to take an act of god to fire employees who literally do not do their job. DO NOT CLIMB THE LADDER. The higher you get in this company, the more you will regret it.
