Pros

It's a good cause, even if this organization pursues it badly.

Cons

As a woman, it was hard to see this organization's incompetence. Many of the rank-and-file work very hard, but management, even at the state or regional level, is out to lunch and mostly concerned with their own personal priorities. For example, my director in Nevada barely made an effort to visit her teams, but then would verbally abuse and threaten them if they disappointed her. Then, when confronted by her superiors, she blamed her own family and relationship stress, rather than apologizing or improving as a manager. She has since been promoted multiple times, now to a national position. It's not exactly the strong, feminist leadership I was hoping for. Beyond bad leadership, the larger organization seems to have difficulty functioning in a day-to-day fashion. Ops regularly makes large mistakes that people on the ground pay for. Data management is laughable. Pay is low. At the end of the day, there's a very good reason Planned Parenthood has eclipsed this organization entirely. Save your donations for them.
