Pros

Campus-like Atmosphere, Family-oriented, Nice offices, computer equipment, chair, Telecommuting option, Nice benefits (dental, health, vision, retirement, other kinds of insurance), Possibility to do interesting and challenging work, Competent co-workers

Cons

Mission projects can take up to 50+ hrs week, Pays less than a less government-oriented software job, Parking for most employees requires shuttling unless you come before approx. 7am or after 2pm, Little opportunity for research work in software, Competitiveness can get in the way of a more effective cooperative work environment, Unclear how to gain promotions and perks without becoming a manager, Unclear how to gain promotions and perks more on merit than on schmoozing, Unclear rules for part-time student employees, Unnecessarily restrictive rules for part-time student employees
