Pros

NCC Group are a 100% Cyber Security company who are doing well. Security is a huge growth area and without the overheads or baggage other, larger consultancies/SI's have. Pay reviews and bonus payments have been fair, particularly considering the impact of the pandemic. Genuine thought leadership and experience in certain areas of the organisation. Flexible working is encouraged, I was able to work from home 90%+ throughout my time. Work/life balance. Ability to work with many customers with a breadth of geography, size and sector. Regular senior management town hall updates, including a surprising openness in open Q+A.

Cons

Career development and organisational maturity. I assumed for such a large organisation that the basics I had expected throughout my career were absent. This is changing however, I suspect through staff feedback. There are now plans being rolled out gradually across the business (likely 2-3 years) to improve this: * Career path - at the time of writing there isn't a defined job role/family for all areas of the business. These are being developed. * Promotion process - it's unclear how/why promotion takes place. New roles would be created and people promoted into them seemingly without competition, formal interview and independent oversight (i.e. the absence of a formal job family/competencies). * Until very recently, there was no internal job board - it was easier to find another role outside the company than within. I think it's fair to say NCC is a sales led business, looking at the number of Account Manager reviews there are here. High transaction volume, short engagements on the whole. A company for young people. Sick pay is very limited (UK - 20 days paid a year, then SSP). Limited benefits, baseline pension and no private healthcare option.
