Pros

Incredible access to resources, both monetary (intramural funding), physical (equipment), and intellectual (the scientists). The post-docs are very well taken care of, from salary to benefits, options for travel, ability to do high level science, etc.

Cons

The campus is expansive and often disorganized especially because of age of buildings. Unless your division has a good niche for some technique/machine/protocol, booking time on machines or finding resources can be challenging. Lots of bureaucracy, but this can be overcome with some patience.

Pros

Working with the some of the smartest scientists and clinicians in the world. So many learning opportunities. Kind patients. Allowed time to care for patients as there is no pressure of quotas by health insurance.

Cons

Nursing management can be verbally abusive with frequent retaliation and intimidation. As most older nurses have worked there for most of their career, they are dismissive of new perspectives and resistant to evidence-based practice.
