Pros

Very kind co-workers, well kept buildings and grounds, good, safe industry to work in.

Cons

An old anecdote describes that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out but if the frog is put in cold water which is then brought up to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.    That is exactly is what’s happening with employees at NJM.   Over the last several years, the positive aspects of the culture have whittled away.   Benefits have been reduced, the company is expanding yet the number of staff remains the same, policies are changing to benefit the company rather than employees and having a long tenure is now to your detriment.   Management will never admit it, but its clear they are pushing the more experienced people out the door by terminating or making work life unpleasant resulting in resignations and retirements.    Since the beginning of 2017, there have been several good people that have gone from the I.T. Department, Project Management Office, Administrative Services, heck, even the HR Department.   It seems NJM believes millennials will be the key to their future success.  Unfortunately though, management has no idea how to keep those millennials from leaving since work from home options are only given  to a small percentage of employees, outside of the box thinking is shunned and micromanagement runs rampant throughout the company.   I predict a world of pain for this organization over the next few years as competition to keep good employees increases.
