Pros

Receiving a (small) paycheck and health insurance. Small gym access if you use it, free pop in cafeteria if that's your thing. For the cherry picked employees that are salary, they're able to work from home whenever they feel. It's nice for them, but causes some disconnect in employee relations, as it looks like some are privileged. No mandatory over time.

Cons

Overall it's just a terribly ran company, all of the negative reviews were true; there's no formal training, management is poor and dysfunctional, there is NO ROOM for advancement even though it's a lie they tell you in interviews, and the pay is mediocre. NSF states that they believe in promoting from within, but that only happens if someone has buddied up to a manager, they will even hire outside for the company to help out a friend, before hiring a qualified internal applicant, employees get promotions based on friendships, managers have even stated that being social helps you advance at NSF. It's a really shameful system. You will not receive a raise without a promotion, and it's rare that someone gets promoted, out of several hundred US employees, less than 20 received promotions in the past year. They give company wide "merit raises" which don't even equate to a Cost of Living Adjustment raise, their system is laughable. NSF is deemed a "non-profit" company because all of the profits go to senior management, the system is completely unbalanced. I can't even call the pay average, it's low, you're lucky to get a .50 cent raise annually. If you complain to management or HR you get harassed, even though it's stated that they care about their employees and have an "open door" policy. So instead of complaining, many people just leave, the turn over is very high because of this. Managers, HR staff, Accounting Staff, many people that held important positions in the company have quit because of gross mistreatment and dysfunction.

Pros

The most supportive place I've ever worked. From my coworkers to the management team, I am continously grateful for this positive, collaborative work environment.

Cons

I have nothing negative to say about working here. NSF is high on my list of blessings in my life.

Pros

Great team members. Solid mission to work towards.

Cons

Work life balance, they killed the culture and the senior leadership changes with the wind. Lack of communication across divisions. Strong preference for inclusion for onsite team; remote are left out frequently, intentionally.
