Pros
Good teamwork, collaborative environment. Good amount of celebratory food type events during the work day throughout the year. Amazing CDO and employee resource groups and support of minority employees. Flexible unpaid time off when you inevitably run out of PTO and flexible schedule within reason for your responsibilities. There are a lot of good people that still work here from the small company days. Management is trying to improve some things on a corporate timeframe (very slow). Big company does mean you could probably transfer easily across the country/to Canada with recent merger if you're looking for that opportunity.
Cons
Micromanagement, low wages, drama with promotions, highly stressful. Company cares more about margins than delivering quality data and providing a career to the production team. Upper management is out of touch and overly involved in technical decisions that they don't understand. Years served usually means more to management than individual competency (in terms of promotions and opportunities). Benefits are just okay, most people use their spouse's if possible. Company shortcomings are seeing a severe brain drain occur. Wouldn't trust this company for a career let alone job security unless you have a lot of patience and budgeting skills. Working here kinda looks bad in the geospatial world as most everyone knows it's just a data factory, if you care about a geospatial career you'll have to work pretty hard and/or get lucky to move from here.
