Pros

Struggling to think of any. I would say there is room to be flexible in your schedule as long as you meet deadlines, which is nice, but also not really unique to this company in today's climate. I enjoyed the company I worked for prior to NV5 buying us out.

Cons

Really a terrible, toxic company to work for. There are a multitude of reasons why, but I'll highlight some of the most important: -Poor Leadership - People promoted into management positions who have absolutely no business managing people. -Inequity - Those who do the bare minimum are regularly celebrated and rewarded. It's really quite baffling. I can't help but feel there's some bureaucratic reasoning behind this. - Poor pay - Upper management makes very good money, however below that the pay compared to the industry standard is laughable. And then you are supposed to clap and cheer for your 1% raise. - No 401k match and no bonuses - These were two things promised to us during the buyout, however, it was not true. Our Christmas bonus this past year was a $40 Amazon gift card. No lie. They've also stripped our holidays down to a total of 5 paid days off. NV5 is not a mission-driven company. They are out to make money, and they do not care about their employees. The ONLY way I'd recommend working here is to get a year of experience (if you're entry-level) and then hightail it somewhere else.

Pros

The office staff cares about employees, the staff is very caring about eachother, lots of after-work activities, good and honest work, managers are attentive to needs, and there are plenty of opportunities to move up the ladder.

Cons

Sometimes I'd rather be at work than at home.

Pros

Work from home freedom Boss is very communicative

Cons

They rely on ghost writing too much instead of having the inspectors write their own reports. They hire very very poor subcontractors to do inspections that give very bad info and take poor photos. No breaks from one report to the other. The report review also needs help... lots of errors in prior reports. Constantly overloaded fixing everyone's mistakes. Lazy coworkers. Lots of late late nights working.
