Was miserable. Been happier since I left - Sales Assistant NVR Employee Review

Pros

Decent benefits, not great. Get to work on a nice house…

Cons

Too many corporate games. Sales managers and higher ups do not care about work life balance, commute, mental health, or just their employees in general. Overall a pretty miserable time. Lots of work and expectations for very little (not a livable wage) pay. You do the exact same job (sometimes more work) than the commissioned sales reps, bring them leads, close deals and they reap the benefits whiles sales assistants are lucky IF they see a Christmas bonus.

Pros

The Charleston Division is an incredible group of professionals. NVR/Ryan Homes might be a large home builder, but here, you will feel like you are part of a family. The training is the best I've ever experienced. You will be supported in every way, as long as you are communicative and transparent with management. In turn, you will be expected to show up, conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, and work hard. Your training will prepare you for success, and you will need to use what you learned. It works! You get one weekend off each month, which I never had with other builders. Sadly, I had to leave due to a move, and a position was not open in my new area so I could transfer.

Cons

I can't think of any

Pros

Good commission structure with early payouts, qualify hoe, solid benefits, and a professional sales environment. Training and system were well organized.

Cons

Lead volume was inconsistent and often too light to generate a sustainable income. Pricing and market positioning made it difficult to compete in my area, resulting in fewer opportunities than expected. Success depended heavily on market conditions and traffic.
