Pros
- Fellow employees are genuinely the best, everyone's young yet minimal drama. Lots of opportunities to make friends if you're new to the city. - Hires lots new grads, which is sweet, and they've got gumption. - Lunch is paid for and delivered, but it comes from a pre-selected menu. I'm pretty picky yet there is usually something for me to eat. - Frankly, the work is easy as a CLO. It's pretty much the same idea everyday, with differences coming from how many samples come in that day, and what machines want to not work that day, usual lab stuff. - Most people I've heard complain about the job have only worked 1 or 2 jobs before this one. I've been working ever since I meet the age minimum to work and I've WORKED bad jobs for real. Nothing about this job is comparable to those. There's no fighting, customer interaction, the management is kind, etc. You won't ever see people just straight up rage-quitting, because it's so low stress.
Cons
They have a self-created program to help people get their ASCP MB certification. I LOVE the idea, but it's dreadfully structured. It's advertised as self-paced but it isn't. There is a time minimum that you must wait before you can even attempt to graduate from the program, and it also includes a presentation given to whoever wants to come see, which sucks because it's unimportant in the grand scheme of things. THEN after you get through the program, it can take months to be sent on to take the ASCP exam. And THEN after that, you have to accept a new position at Natera and stay there a year or else pay back thousands of dollars... for a made-up program... that didn't need to be there in the first place. And every year they add some extra bs to it. This whole program was advertised to me as a way to advance my career, but after hearing all the details, I opted out, and many people do for the same reason. Especially since there are tons of my fellow peers who got their ASCP MB certification with their own hard work learning and studying independently after only a couple months. This really is my only grievance with the company, because it was a real disappointment. otherwise, I genuinely enjoy working here, it's the best job I've ever worked
