Pros
Very few. Their mission is very compelling and their tests are groundbreaking. Unfortunately the management team is sub-par, with the only exception being the CEO.
Cons
Unfortunately there are too many to name here. This organization is overloaded with leadership in most all areas, meaning those actually doing the work bear the brunt. Your success here is predicated upon how well your Bosses' boss thinks of you. When your Boss and his boss, have competing viewpoints, and strategies, you're stuck in the middle. This organization will go as far as allowing Sr Leaders to override Manager recommendations for raises, promotions, bonuses, and performance reviews. If a concern is raised with the HR group, expect that it will ignored. Additionally, if you're trying to grow your career use caution here. You might apply for a role that is the 'next step' in your career. It's a common practice for Natera to downgrade roles and salaries associated with the job during the interview process. If you successfully complete the interviews, they may still offer you a lesser role. Lastly, unlimited PTO at Natera is a scary situation. Generally employees are too overwhelmed to even consider taking time off. If you do use PTO, Senior leaders will definitely remember it and use it against you during your annual review.
