Pros

Great flexibility, work life balance, good benefits. Interesting work. Ability to explore different career paths. Good mission, and, more or less, great people.

Cons

Disconnect between leadership and workforce. Sometimes it can be hard to see the actual impact of the work you put in. Lots of ladder climbers that spend more time networking, selling themselves to leadership, and taking credit for "initiatives" that others did all the work on. Conversely, there are a fair amount of lazy people who don't pull their weight. Agency and office leadership changes hands relatively often, so it is hard for long-term strategic goals to be fully met. To many decisions and priorities driven by buzzwords.

Pros

Great co-workers. Lots of time off

Cons

Poor senior leadership lacks effectiveness. Promotion decisions prioritize diversity objectives over merit, with less qualified junior personnel (mostly female) advanced to Band 4 and Band 5 positions ahead of more qualified candidates. Additionally, daily workloads are insufficient to fill an 8-hour shift.
