Cons
Salary Expectations (NI ELP Scheme) Year 1 & 2 (possibly three): £25,000 Year 3 onwards as a Travelling Salesman: £30,000 plus commission, but the commission structure isn't great. A lot of the guys work really hard and are hitting £40,000, which I don't think is worth the huge amount of effort they put in. £40k for a zero work-life balance? No thank you. Commission structure is also very unfair. I worked myself to the bone and got no commission one quarter because my large team missed their target. However, next quarter someone else pulled in a huge deal that I had absolutely nothing to do with, and I got £1000. Where is the incentive there?! - I found Sales very boring, but it's where I got stuck for a year. - A lot is expected from you, and you don't really get much in return. I've moved to my second job post-uni job which is a lot more chilled out, and I make a lot more money. - Newbury is nice, but it is a boring place for a young professional.
