Flexible management, great people, below average pay - Life Insurance Underwriter National Life Group Employee Review

Pros

I love working here. Being at the Vermont campus is great because we have great people a large gym, and all my managers have been very flexible (the corporate re-shuffling of management can be annoying), As one of the largest companies in the state, we make a difference in the community and it is clear that the company cares deeply this and about it's people.

Cons

The cost of living is high in VT, despite what lots of people think, and the company has yet to be competitive in pay for what I have seen. It is a problem. I hope this is looked at my upper-management soon because we are losing a lot of great young, local people.

Pros

Good pay, nice people to work with but as a consultant I feel a bit on the "outside".

Cons

Every single person that is an Executive Vice President is a man with the only woman being the CEO's Executive Assistant. Clearly you can see there is a distinct "known" here at this company.

We recognize that diversity has historically been an issue in our industry. However, if you look at our corporate board, we're actively working to diversify and will continue to make sure we consider all aspects. We will always focus on adding the most qualified talent to all of our roles across the entire organization. If you would like to connect further regarding this, I would welcome the opportunity to talk. - Michael Veilleux, Chief People Officer
