Pros

Benefits Get to work from home Monday and Friday Good amenities on the Vermont campus

Cons

This is the kind of company that only exists because everyone just keeps showing up to work. There's no vision for the future and the only value proposition that the company offers is to its insurance sales agents, who, in turn, don't provide any value to their clients. This whole organization operates as an exclusive multi-level-marketing scheme, where the agents' (salespeople) exchange their personal and professional networks for commissions on products that can't be differentiated from other industry offerings. To make all of the organizational operations further devoid of meaning and satisfaction, across the board the executive leaders are 99% checked out and only make rare appearances to show face when agencies visit the home office. The executive leader in my department doesn't even live in the United States, let alone Vermont. He reminds me of the local sponsor for a Little League baseball team who shows up for one game out of the whole season and puts on a two hour show of being personally invested in the team's success, only to disappear until next year.

We strongly encourage you to engage in a conversation with your manager or myself directly, as it appears there may be some misunderstanding. The company has a comprehensive three-year strategic plan, which is accessible and has been shared broadly to all associates. The guiding principles of this plan are embedded in every aspect of our operations. As for our executive leaders, all are based in the United States and are generally in the office unless travelling for business. Let’s please discuss your concerns. My door is always open. ~Michael Veilleux, Chief People Officer

Pros

Good pay, nice people to work with but as a consultant I feel a bit on the "outside".

Cons

Every single person that is an Executive Vice President is a man with the only woman being the CEO's Executive Assistant. Clearly you can see there is a distinct "known" here at this company.

We recognize that diversity has historically been an issue in our industry. However, if you look at our corporate board, we're actively working to diversify and will continue to make sure we consider all aspects. We will always focus on adding the most qualified talent to all of our roles across the entire organization. If you would like to connect further regarding this, I would welcome the opportunity to talk. - Michael Veilleux, Chief People Officer
