Pros

Parks are beautiful. Most visitors are happy.

Cons

Number one nepotism. I have seen this in two of the parks I worked at Hawaii volcanoes national Park and Olympic national park . management hires supervisor rookies with NO experience & that don’t know what they’re doing. I even had a supervisor keep me after work and try to bribe me to sign documents, saying that I did some thing I didn’t do. Just to save their job. Upper Supervisors hire their surfing buddies to be beginning supervisors… Seasonal employees are trash and are treated as such and replaceable. If I didn’t love the parks so much, I would never work there again. Anyone with a masters degree, or more experience than lower level supervisors are perceived as a threat. All as mentioned above in Anyone with a masters degree, or more experience than lower level supervisors are perceived as a threat. All as mentioned above in the ratings. I love my job, I love what I do and I love making people happy, especially families. It’s just a shame that management is so screwed up and as previous posts have said, nepotism, cronyism, and discrimination run rampant. It’s so sad.
