Pros
Living and working in beautiful places. Working with mostly passionate and driven people. Feeling a sense of fulfillment in stewarding important natural and cultural resources,
Cons
Managers bully, act with impunity, and are never held accountable for how they treat their direct reports. Employees "fall" upwards into leadership positions when they are not equipped or trained to supervise. Parks go through the motions of caring about employee wellness and wellbeing but do nothing to improve workplace conditions for suffering employees. Lack of government-provided housing forces employees to pay exorbitant prices to live in "gateway community" towns. Most employees are "career seasonal" and forced to take a minimum of 2 weeks of unpaid furlough time off every year.
