Pros

Benefits are good, comparable to most Associations in the DC area

Cons

It is very interesting and convenient that these “reviews” have resurfaced since the last reorganization was announced. Finally, the proper Executive was pushed out a few weeks ago. The email that went out on that FRIDAY AFTERNOON was in line with all of the other emails that have gone out when higher level staff were let go, there wasn’t anything shocking about it. The only shock is that she was allowed to stay in her role a whole month after the announcement. It is also very interesting that disrespectful language about the top leader of the organization was mentioned on this site right after that “resignation” was announced. The lesson for that “Executive” should be that belittling and being disrespectful to staff blew up in her face. She never grasped that staff actually tried to be on her team and wished her success, because change was needed. None of the departments that she was in charge of reflected any positive or productive change during her tenure. Technology is still out dated and problematic. Human Resources has a large staff that still can’t get the basics right, and Office Services still has an incompetent leader. It is truly sad that the organization lost so many talented and loyal employees due to that Executive’s disgusting behavior. If she spent more time trying to get to know people instead of treating everyone like they were stupid, she may have lasted longer. Dominating conversations and talking over people, being disrespectful and acting like a complete narcissist can only last for so long. You can’t blame the top leader forever for the damage that you created. What goes around comes around.
