Pros

See alot of patients, help alot of uninsured/low socioeconomic class people, great pay and benefits, supportive staff, good tech support (Ret Imaging, AutoK/IOP, FDT Screening, Exam room setup), holidays off and fair PTO, no on call duties, good contact lens selection (relationship with xcel for RGPs, but no topography, must be able to fit through NaFl assessment)

Cons

See alot of patients (avg 28-32 a day), no OCT/VF machine, you can practice medical optometry to some extent (manage aseg conditions, diabetics, uveitis) but many cases referred due to volume of patients (upside is building excellent relationships with local OMD's). Carries a bad name in general optometric industry due to branding off "cheap" eyecare but upside is this is affordable to a very large and ignored patient population. Difficult maintaing respectful relationships with OD's outside of Company network. No control over scheduling (Can get 3 diabetics all within 5:00-5:30 PM which can extend when you can go home due to dilations). But truly the company allows OD's to practice to the extent in which they are comfortable but the lack of control in scheduling means a comprimise must be made.
