New staff are paid nowhere near enough for a skilled profession, leaves training up to individual line managers without telling them exactly what training needs to be done. Incredibly tight with expenses - it can take up to 2 months to get reimbursed for things like hotels and long train journeys that you have to pay for upfront. Tight in every sense yet tries to monopolise the local newspaper industry. No sort of private healthcare benefits or decent mental health scheme which you would expect from a huge company where staff are subject to abuse from readers. Company phone and laptop are so dreadful that I do not use them meaning I have to make work calls on my personal phone.
