      There is a lot of nepotism. To be hired straight as a regular employee you have to have some kind of prior connection (read: family of, friend of XYZ).

      Decent pay and benefits for the area, unique work that you can't do many other places, good opportunities for travel and promotion

      Cons

      Commute and parking turns 8 hour shifts into 10 hour shifts, mandatory overtime and travel for periods of several months, frequent shutdowns, very poor morale, terrible first level supervision, mediocre middle management
