Naval Sea Systems Command

Is this your company?

It's alright, but there are better alternatives in NAVSEA. - Supervisory Financial Management Analyst Naval Sea Systems Command Employee Review

Pros

Federal Benefits Package Pay is probably better than most things in the area, but Seattle is right next door so... Yep, pretty much comes down to the benefits package.

Cons

IT Infrastructure is awful. No camera phones. Nickel and dime culture from management. Telework/WFH happened once, but management successfully killed that off as quickly as possible. Excessive amount of authoritarianism in upper management. Personnel Security group is universally awful to deal with. If you're looking at waterfront work, expect to be required to come in for overtime only to sit for 10-12 hours on your weekend. Pay is nice, but ... that's ridiculous. If you're not on the waterfront and an overhead employee, expect to be told you can't have overtime while watching all the waterfront folks come in at 5:20 and eat breakfast for two hours. Well, hearing about it anyway ... you won't be there of course.

Commute and parking turns 8 hour shifts into 10 hour shifts, mandatory overtime and travel for periods of several months, frequent shutdowns, very poor morale, terrible first level supervision, mediocre middle management
