Pros
- Coworkers are generally great and easy to get along with - Pretty chill environment, business casual - Benefits are great!
Cons
- For software developers, an awful place to work if you want to learn from other software developers. I got lucky and eventually got a good mentor, but was working without any help for a long time. - Not many opportunities for software developers - If you're not interested in Naval Architecture, there's not much to knowledge to gain here unless you get lucky enough to get hired into a well-established development team (which I only know of one) - High expectations for a new hire. I had two years of work experience, and yet was expected to take up the role of Programming Lead. - Very limited ND-5 positions. There's a point where you can't progress with your salary - You have to wear all hats and do more than your job description. I was expected to help purchase software and help with various IT tasks even though I was hired as a software developer for a specific project.
