      You are unlikely to be micromanaged or pushed to work beyond your comfort level (maybe a con as well). Good federal job benefits including TSP retirement, partial pension after a number of years, sick days, and cheap health insurance. You are compensated for working over 40 hours/week when necessary.

      Lethargic. Does not reward high performers. Relatively low pay compared to industry.

      Commute and parking turns 8 hour shifts into 10 hour shifts, mandatory overtime and travel for periods of several months, frequent shutdowns, very poor morale, terrible first level supervision, mediocre middle management
