Pros

Work-life balance is very flexible. Engineering management understands that employees have responsibilities outside of work and are generally willing to accommodate their schedules to support the command as well as things outside of work. The addition of maintaining telework as an option for employees is a great incentive as well.

Cons

A lot of things are outdated including office space furniture and supplies, computers, and applications used to accomplish work. The computers are slow and take up quite a bit of time each day to actually be functional and allow employees to complete their assigned tasks. Additionally, the GS scale that nuclear engineers are on does not keep up with other engineering jobs around the Washington

Pros

Decent pay and benefits for the area, unique work that you can't do many other places, good opportunities for travel and promotion

Cons

Commute and parking turns 8 hour shifts into 10 hour shifts, mandatory overtime and travel for periods of several months, frequent shutdowns, very poor morale, terrible first level supervision, mediocre middle management
