Pros
There are pros to working here, but that all depends on what department you wind up working in. Some of the upper management is absolutely wonderful, where as the rest...not so much. Our insurance plans are amazing for plans now days. The HR Department in Tulsa has blossomed into the best HR team we have ever had!
Cons
The majority of the upper management doesn't believe in hiring within the company. They would rather have someone fresh out of college with zero experience with our products, than someone who has been here 10+ years who will eventually have to train the new person (even if the new person is in a higher position). So, we get people who are 'green' to our products and processes/procedures, and they eventually fail and wind up getting fired OR they can't deal with the work load so they quit. We get merit raises every year, but they are more like a slap in the face than they are helpful. The only people in our company who benefit greatly from merit raises, are the upper management and those on a 'bonus' plan. NO one in our company who actually does the work to keep this business going and growing gets compensated accordingly. Navico would rather spend millions of dollars on crap than putting the money into the employees who help keep things running smooth every day. Vacation time is nice...but if you take vacation, be prepared to bring your laptop, phone, etc. with you to work wile you're supposed to be relaxing. No one cares if you are on vacation, sick, death in the family, etc. If they need you, you BETTER be ale to answer at any given time....day or night. They say there is an 'open door policy', but anyone who uses it gets crapped on in the end, and it goes into your permanent file.
