Pros
I am remote and work in sales so cannot speak to what it is like in the office. However, the vast majority of the sales team is extremely passionate about what they do and have great experience and knowledge of the products. The people in this company are what makes it so great, and selling a product that we all truly believe in makes it even better. Yes, in lamens terms we sell fishfinders for a living. But seriously, you better love it because you are going to spend alot of time traveling and WILL work your butt off. It is truly a team effort, all the time.
Cons
There are many things you cannot control that will effect your performance in this company. Have seen several times where a sales manager does not meet his numbers for the quarter due to product not shipping and it is a bad reflection on the work they put in to meet their sales target. You will be harassed nonstop on your forecast, which is nearly impossible to be accurate on due to the industry. If you are selling more than your forecast, you should have forecasted more and there wouldn't be delays! Wait, you over forecasted and we still can't meet demand? Oh, Sorry!.... complete sarcasm. But realistically what happens here. Product management also misses deadlines frequently. Once you figure that out though you will already be adding on 2-3 months from the date they tell you something will be shipping.
