Pros

the benefits and easy work load are the only reason people stay here. it's just too easy. plus you get a huge bonus for basically just doing your regular job. so many people don't even try, all you have to do is try just a little bit, and you look amazing. job security. you basically have to commit a crime or repeat the same stupid error over and over again to be fired.

Cons

bureaucratic and bloated with red tape and stupid formality checks like every other government related organization. minorities and others with inadequate skills often promoted or put into positions that are not a good fit and as a result, other people have to work harder to make up for it. politics regarding performance issues for women recently returning from maternity leave or short term disability. HR is super sensitive towards anything. anyone can go complain and HR will pat them on the back and say aww are you okay baby? there's just a lot of stupid people in the company. go into the cafeteria and it looks like a high school - the old people look nerdy like teachers and the young people looks like slobs. 100 greatest places to work for boring data entry careers and boring call/collection careers. the company is just basically basking in the new profits, no real plan or strategy. a bunch of people just waiting for the next PIP/Bonus payout. change is extremely slow and management is super reactive and NEVER proactive. it's like everyone is sleeping until someone SVP or above wakes up and has a questions about something and it's a firedrill- completely asinine. typical silos and most senior executives that try to come together on something are polar opposites and nothing ever gets done. most databases are extremely immature compared to companies the same size - ISD is worthless, definitely not a good place to have an IT career or any career for that matter because it's so mind numbing and asinine watching stupid people push paper and provide no value to the company. we're all winners! career opportunities are limited. you basically have to suck it up and just have a positive attitude and go numb and brain dead about some of the major issues in your department. just ignore everything and smile.

Pros

Great work-life balance. Great benefits- 7% 401K match, 3% pension, $1K HSA match. 4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks sick leave. Discounted rate on mortgage or auto loan. Company really values tenure and employee retention. Hybrid schedule with 3 times a week for people leaders, 2 times a week for individual contributors.

Cons

Ver relationship-based. If you can't network, you likely won't have much upward mobility. Can be bureaucratic depending on your leadership.

Pros

In my tenure I had wonderful people I met who had a great impact on my life.

Cons

Unreasonable expectations, lack of planning and change management, no work-life balance, destroyed my mental health and had a severe negative impact on my family life and overall well being, accommodations denied, FMLA was a nightmare- I was hounded the entire time when I would return. Also an emergency that was life threatening and was expected to continue to report daily after clearly outlining the details and severity of the situation. Lack of empathy from upper management, thankful my direct leadership had a soul . Total opposite of the place I was so proud to work for and the culture that Mr. Dawson built has almost been fundamentally torn apart piece by piece. Multiple requests to voluntarily step down. I’ve seen another review from the department of people having severe mental distress issues and this is an ongoing issue that has been silently known about since at least 2018 and nothing has really been done. The pressure just keeps adding on instead. A lot of talk, but it’s fluff. Then when finally the impact takes its toll and an employee performance starts to show the struggles, they’re placed on a PIP & basically playing Russian roulette to keep your livelihood. Maybe member experience would be better if employees were actually cared for and not disregarded. And when you are strong willed and try to improve and won’t quit, they will find a way to throw you to the curb after you’ve devoted years of loyalty, integrity, awards, and exceeding performances. Please save the “we are sorry and this does not reflect our blah blah” auto reply. It’s insulting.
