Pros
The providers and front line staff are incredibly dedicated and passionate. The patients are grateful for everything we do. Many of my co-workers are people that have become my friends.
Cons
The top leaders of the organization pat themselves on the back at every opportunity for a job well done, and ignore the reality of the employee culture and job satisfaction. Communication and transparency is non-existent. Proactive measures to help the community are lacking. The top leaders along with the administrative departments are quick to admonish and terminate anyone who criticizes their decisions or actions, therefore discouraging open dialogue. The health center seems more focused on the financial side of the operation, ironic given the health center is a non-profit entity. In many ways, the health center is stuck in the dark ages of leadership in that it is authoritarian and elitist. With the exception of the CEO, it is a white male dominated leadership team with no room for diversity and change. This is not a place where you can hope to be promoted or heard.
