Pros

Ability to build your own business, and the sense of accomplishment. You will have to do such with your own determination. You will get very little if any help in doing so. If you get a positive manager than you are good. If they are awful it is a real sludge. With the ever revolving door of managers you will have both.

Cons

The level of micro managing is intense. Even though it is a sales job, in an 8 hour shift, I have one hour of stock work, several emails and outreach to unknown clients with no financial gain involved, as well as several hour long training calls and meetings for programs they start only to drop it later. Alll of this time of the floor is unpaid!!! Since you are on straight commission. The level of inventory and access to product is challenging. Since the bankruptcy I now know what it feels like to be the poor girl at the dance with no shoes or dress.

Pros

* If you have an amazing team and management the day goes by fast. * Commission. * Easy to rely on foot traffic to meet goals. * If you ask for growth, they set thing ups that align with what you want, you just need to ask.

Cons

* If its slow, its SLOW. * There can be drama, it just depends on the department you're in.

Pros

Employee discount and free samples

Cons

A toxic environment where sales are almost zero because vendors are pulling their product off the shelf because their bills aren’t getting paid. They’re in the middle of coming out of a bankruptcy , if a client does come in, we usually don’t have the product to sell them ,only lines who are partially thriving is fragrance ! The hours are terrible. You get off work at nine and you’re expected to be back at 9:30 AM.
