Working at NetApp is generally good, but can be frustrating with the constantly changing requirements to do your job. - Anonymous employee NetApp Employee Review

Pros

Great training with quite knowledgeable trainers. Work your shift without having to take work home. Good work-life balance. Nice to not have to worry about how you dress.

Cons

Lots of hidden caveats in working towards promotions, merit raises, etc. Raises are minimal at best with a six month wait for your salary increase after your review. Promotions are the same - you may not get your increase until six months after your promotion. Requirements for promotions are all over the board with no clear direction on what is required. Very inconsistent. Management is too concerned with the bottom line of the almighty stock dollar to care about rewarding employees.

Pros

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Cons

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
