Pros
Great benefits and HR department that really tries to offer a package that will entice top talent to stay. Growth of company can offer potential for great earning potential in the right environment. Flexible work environment allows for sex scheduling or remote work.
Cons
On boarding program is a disaster and leaves new hires fending for themselves. They have promoted top sales reps into "Sales Enablement" without vetting whether or not those individuals have qualities or qualifications that help them be effective. Most of my interactions with the Enablement team were fragmented and disjointed, which led to horribly inefficient meetings and a misuse of time. Too much forcing of the NetSuite sales methodology, which there are several depending on which vertical you sell for.Sales process is lengthy and requires many formal steps that is often off putting to the client/prospect. Most technology systems were not pre-installed on company-provided laptop, which meant that I had to spend a significant amount of time configuring everything and submitting IT tickets for access to programs not provided. NetSuite also decided to implement several new systems all at once, which made it difficult to keep up with the required processes and technologies to be used for certain tasks. Most of the training program was out of date and repetitive. On-site "Sales Training" consisted of listening to all of the different departments that an Account Executive is required to wrangle during the sales process. Sales Managers made comments about how Sales Executives were expected to work between 60-80 hours a week to achieve their goals. New verticals, such as Nonprofit, were left with very little support from NetSuite as a whole. Most marketing materials and sales tools were designed for General Business. Additionally, NetSuite has a reputation in the open market as a reliable solution for Mid-Market businesses, but lacks any kind of real brand name recognition compared to other competitors like Oracle, Microsoft, Workday, and SAP. This makes it increasingly difficult to get a seat at the table in open competitions with those types of companies. Where NetSuite has been able ride along growing in the Mid-Market cloud space, you're going to start to see some of the big boys moving in. This spells trouble for NetSuite, which has not been able to capture the same caliber of clients that their competitors are able to. The continued push for rapid growth at a pace that seems to be unsustainable in the long run seems to insinuate that NetSuite may be looking for the opportunity to sell to a larger competition rather than grow to compete with them head on. There have already been rumors about a possible take over from a company like Oracle. Career development is non-existent. No option for continued education or certification, no career path planning. This is a butt-in-a-seat type of a job. If you're looking for sales experience to enable a future move professionally, NetSuite may be a fit. If you are looking to develop yourself professionally, you may want to look elsewhere.
