Pros
- worked with some great people - gain a lot of railway knowledge very quickly - great development opportunities for track staff - fantastic company benefits
Cons
- not the best salaries if you are below Band 4 - lack of communication from senior leadership - a lot of people are expected to work very long/extra hours without the extra pay - hardly any communication regarding pay rises/bonuses since Covid (last pay rise was pre-Covid and no plans to give a rise in 2022 either, who knows about 2023!) - uncertainty over job security because of GBR - unorganised environment/lack of support from managers (depending on which office/depot you work in) - management delegate absolutely everything they can, creating a lot of unnecessary stress for others - need to find much more modern ways of working
