Pros
Working with a specialized population. You will obtain exposure to everything and you will learn what NOT to do by setting a lot of unethical and illegal activities.
Cons
The patients are there to make the owners and higher ups money. Plain and simple. Patients are admitted commonly for a 72-hour hold but not released even if they no longer meet criteria to remain hospitalized because the owner complains he loses money. Poor working conditions, lack of security, conditions are fabricated to keep patients hospitalized. Staff is commonly threatened by management, medications are administered to patients by mistake and /or incorrectly and then covered up and families paid off or hospital songs dedicated to the deceased patients in question. The offenders of NPH and Aims are unethical and run an illegal business in many ways, taking advantage of this undeserved population. People are commonly paid off or under the table so JAICO does not cite this business.
