Pros
Great job. If you work, you get paid well. Lots of people from all over so incredibly friendly communities. Great benefits as well. Some of the cheapest insurance plans for family I've ever seen apart from other mining companies. Safety culture enforced. Awesome company stock sharing for salary employees. Tons of opportunity to move between sites.
Cons
Great job but career path is not so clear. If all you want is a paycheck and don't care about the career then this is 100% for you. Most career paths seem dominated by those with family history in mining. Not a surprise to see young managers everywhere whose parents are also managers. Only big company I know where managers can throw temper tantrums and their parents will be there to justify it. Having said that, they get the job done sometimes with lots of yelling and kicking. Living costs can be high. The community in general has an incredibly overpriced housing market. All the business know the town is well employed with good salaries so they take advantage of this.
