Pros

Off on holidays and weekends. It’s a bank so that’s not saying much.

Cons

The systems are absolutely atrocious. They do not pay the tellers well enough so they are either forced to take second jobs or leave. No one stays for a long time. They would rather hire and train new people instead of keeping people. Then the new hires are exhausted from the outdated systems and high rate of customers. They say they cannot hire more people because there aren’t many customers. I don’t buy that when the tellers are quitting because they are the only teller in the branch and over worked. Clients are constantly complaining and some are closing their accounts in hopes of finding better service elsewhere.

Pros

Very engaged and open-minded executive management team. They are always asking for feedback and soliciting information from the front line. The bank is very Nevada-centric and has great community spirit and employee culture. Vast opportunities for career in banking as they love to promote within for positions--and have development programs to help people find their path.

Cons

If you are smart and capable, you will probably be given more and more responsibilities, so you just have to speak up if you lose the work/life balance. Sometimes there is a little confusion between local and bancorp responsibilities amongst the teams.
